Moons House is more than we could have hoped for! Beautiful house, gorgeous views and some lovely weather on Saturday with a visit to the Old Smithy. The goats, sheeps, cows, horses, squirrels, bats, buzzards, insects and birds keeping us company. Hearing the history of 'The Hut' and to appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this place. Chris, thank you for making us feel welcome with wine and a beautiful flower display. We enjoyed visiting Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Bude, Westward Ho and Boscastle. What a fantastic place to stay. Spectacular views, total peace and tranquility - we'll be back for sure. We saw a nut hatch from the lounge window and stonechats and rock piper at Welcombe mouth. Great meal at the Old Smithy - such a great atmosphere. Days out at the gnome reserve (hilarious and very odd) & Coombe Martin wildlife + dinosaur park. A most charming stay in the most comfortable bed! Wow! it's so peaceful here. Relaxed so much the walking and sightseeing quickly turned into eating and napping in the sun. I can see why it's so loved and a forragers dream. Genty - September 2015

What a perfect week! Absolute relaxment, absolute calm and absolute happiness! Such a lovely place to come and stay - We have recommended it already to our families back home! We had a lovely week as always and the weather was dry almost all week so we went for plenty of walks up and down the hills and to the beach. The girls in particular enjoyed the moonlight walk home from the Old Smithy one evening. Sad to be leaving, we hope to come again soon. Thanks so much for such a comfortable stay. What a wonderful week. Weather was warm and dry but for one day. Plenty of walking down to the beach and on the last watched the sun go down. Good food always at the Smithy. Bude surfing experience was awesome and an afternoon spent horse riding at Gooseham Barton. Back again in 4 weeks. Can't wait. Lee, Sam, Si and Nikki - March 2016

A lovely week here introducing the youngest member of our branch of the 'Moon' family to Welcombe. Young Marcus at 5 months, has hopefully many years to enjoy coming here!Lovely walks to the beach and around the lanes. Looking forward to a large family party here in late July. Staying here was an absolute joy! The beds were as comfy as they are at home. The garden is lovely for playing darts in as well as playing catch. We have had a wonderful week here of peace and nature. A lovely home, so comfortable - just right for the location. Our two 'new' rescue dogs have had the time of their lives on the local beaches. We loved Northcott and running along the sand. But most of all we loved the utter tranquility and peace of Moon House. It has an amazing atmosphere and we cannot remember when we have been so relaxed. Thank you for letting us share in this wonderful place. Thanks to Chris. As usual this is a peaceful and relaxing place and although it was very wet at the beginning of the week, the sun came out to give us a beautiful day on the day that mattered to us all. Wonderful place, spcious house! inspite of the ugly weather we felt sooo good here especially in the evening with the fireplace. We love this place and for our two dogs it's a paradise, playingall time in the garden. Daniella and michael - July 2016

A lovely week with the entire family here - some camping up at Leddon farm too. Mixed weatherbut trips to the beach, good walks and good to see the eldest grandchild, Ella, at 6 and a half, surfing. A few prawns caught too but no lobsters seen this time. Jean and Martin - July 2016

Our second visit to Moons House and it has been another wonderful holiday! Great weather all week allowing for many trips to the beach (including sandymouth which was beautiful but incredibly busy!) Two fantastic circular walks; up to knap head as far as southhole and little legs could manage and back, and short walk to the pottery and back via st Nectans. Delightful trip to Hartland Abbey yesterday - beautiful gardens especially the vegetable patch and a great walk down to the beach for a picnic. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous place. A lovely family gathering. Good food (thanks Jon!) and fun initiating another generation (4th) of little peopleinto rock climbing, water channeling and wave jumping - but not much sand for sandcastles. What a fantastic place to stay!! Wonderful weather and its October. My partner had been here before and said it's as beautiful now as it was then (10years ago). Great places of interest and our dogs loved it. There is onlyone negative point of the cottage.... is.... its not ours. We thank you so much for sharing Moons House.
